The Selma girl’s basketball team went 2-1 in the Bob Jones Tip-Off Classic.

“We looked pretty good,” said Selma coach Anthony Harris. “We had some young people come off the bench and give us some help.”

Kesha Moore and Ashley Grimes sparked the Saints to a 47-32 win over Spain Park on Friday to move on to the semifinals. Moore finished with 16 points and Grimes had eight.

Selma met Davidson on Saturday morning, and Grimes and Moore scored 20 points apiece to lead the Saints to a 53-34 win.

But the Saints would have to settle for second place as defending Class 2A state champ Bob Jones proved to be too much in a 56-36 win.

“The game just slipped away from us,” said Harris. “But it was a good tournament for us.”

Grimes kept the Saints in the game with 18 points, and Kamesha Strong added seven.

The Saints take on Keith on Friday in Orville.
