Dallas County split two regional playoff games on Friday.

The Hornets opened with a 6-2 loss to UMS Wright to fall into the loser’s bracket, but bounced back with an 8-2 win over Thomasville.

Cassie Daniels pitched a 3-hitter with 12 strikeouts to keep the Hornets’ hopes alive, and Whitney Denson delivered the big blow on offense with a 2-run single that plated Jasmine Gould and Debra Cunningham.

Dallas County will play the loser of the St. James-Andalusia game at 12:30 today.

“If we lose we go home,” said Dallas County assistant coach Gaylen Denson.”We’ve got to to win at least two to get to finals.”
