Keith defeats Williamson, wins tournament

The Keith won the Williamson Thanksgiving Tournament Championship Wednesday with a 64-52 win over Williamson.

Harriet Winchester led the way for the Bears with 26 points and Zykia Pettway had 16 for Keith. Winchester was named tournament MVP after averaging 26.7 points per contest in the three-game tournament.

Shatavia Moore also chipped in 15 points for Keith (5-1), which has won five straight after dopping its opener against Selma.

Keith 63, Cottage Hill 36 (Boys)

Dontavius Thomas hit seven 3-pointers to lead Keith (5-1) to a 63-36 win Wednesday over Cottage Hill in the Williamson Thanksgiving Tournament.

Thomas finished the game with 23 points, while John Pettway chipped in 20 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals.

 

Selma 60, Ellwood Christian 38 (Boys)

Loveless Craig had a double double with 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead Selma (2-2) to a 60-38 win over Ellwood Christian Wednesday night.

Kentravious White scored 13 points and Quentavious Davis scored 8 for the Saints, who advanced to play Greensboro on Thursday.

 

Selma 56, Fairfield 33 (Girls)

Jamya Smith scored 19 points to lead Selma past Fairfield 56-33 during the first round of the Selma Thanksgiving Tournament. Selma (4-0) plays Quitman High School on Friday at 12 p.m.
