Five members of the Dixie Flips Gymnastics team participated in the Alabama State Games in Dothan at the Southeast Alabama Gymnastics Academy on June 12-13.

The girls were privileged to lead the parade of athletes and proudly carried the Western Sector banner as well as their Dixie Flips banner.

The gymnastics competition began with level two and three gymnasts competing first, followed by the level fours.

In the level two competitions, the 7–and-8-year-olds’ Molly Bohannon placed second on beam, fourth on vault and floor and fifth on bars and all-around.

In the 9-year-old group, Shyana Montoro placed first on vault, beam, floor and all-around and third on bars.

Level three Cameran Duncan placed fifth on vault, and sixth on bars, beam, floor and all-around. Brooke Egbert placed fourth on floor and seventh on vault, bars, beam and all-around.

Level four Evey Craig placed sixth on beam and floor and seventh on vault, bars and all-around.

The girls are looking forward to a successful season beginning in August with the Judges Cup to be held in Montgomery.
