Meadowview Christian scored the final 14 runs to fight back from an early deficit against Tuscaloosa Christian Friday in a 14-4 win.

“They got up 4-0 after the second inning, and they never quit,” said Meadowview Christian coach Scott Gunter. “We didn’t get down on ourselves, and that was good.”

Mason Kendrick relieved Wesley Gunter on the mound and shut down the Warriors’ offense.

“Mason did an outstanding job pitching,” Scott Gunter said. “This is probably his third game to pitch in his lifetime, and he did a great job up there.”

Dakota Sanders led the Meadowview offense with two singles and Hunter Harper also had two hits. The Trojans’ offense took advantage of inconsistent pitching from numerous throwers from the Wildcats.

Both schools have had practices affected by the weather lately.

“We’ve had three practices on the field,” Gunter said. “We’ve split the gym with softball on one half, and we’re on the other half. It’s hard to get anything done.”

The Trojans are 2-3 on the season after a win over Ezekiel and lost to Ezekiel and Northside.

Meadowview’s next game will be Saturday at Victory Christian.
