The Dixie Majors state baseball tournament will be held at Bloch Park starting Thursday.

Nine teams will be represented and the tournament is double elimination. Selma will play the final game Thursday against Gadsden at 5:30 p.m.

The other games Thursday are Auburn vs. Suburban West at 10 a.m., Southeastern vs. Bellingrath at 12:30 p.m., and Opp vs. Tuscaloosa at 3 p.m. Sheffield received a bye in the tournament and will play the first game Friday against the winner of Southeastern and Bellingrath.

Games start at 10 a.m. Thursday and Friday. There will be five games Saturday with play starting at 9 a.m. The championship game is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday. An “if necessary” game is scheduled at 11 a.m. in case the team that comes out of the winner’s bracket loses the first game Monday morning.

Selma is hosting the state tournament for the third consecutive year at Bloch Park.

The Dixie Majors division features players that are 17, 18 and 19-years-old.
