No. 8 Keith hosting Autaugaville

The No. 8 Keith Bears (7-0, 5-0 Class 1A-Region 3) will host the Autaugaville Eagles Friday at 7 p.m. in a region contest.

The Bears enter Friday’s game after a 32-25 comeback win over Akron, while the Eagles are coming off a 41-6 loss to No. 7 Maplesville.

Keith defeated Autaugaville 21-13 in last season’s meeting to secure a playoff berth.

The Bears have outscored opponents 289-62 so far this season, while the Eagles have managed to score only 90 points so far.

 

Selma going to Sumter

The Selma Saints (1-6, 0-5, Class 5A-Region 3) will head to York on Friday to face the Sumter Central Jaguars (1-6, 0-5 Class 5A-Region 3) in a region game that marks the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.

The Saints are coming off a 34-6 loss to Greenville in region play, while Sumter is trying to break a two-game losing streak after last week’s 42-6 loss at No. 5 Demopolis.

 

Southside traveling to Excel

The Southside Panthers (1-6, 1-4 Class 3A-Region 1) will look to shake off last week’s homecoming loss when they travel to face the Excel Panthers (1-6, 0-5 Class 3A-Region 1) in a region game.

Southside lost its fifth-straight game of the season with last week’s 48-18 defeat against No. 2 T.R. Miller, while Excel enters Friday’s game on a six-game losing streak including last week’s 47-14 loss at Straughn.

 

Meadowview heading to Sparta

The Meadowview Christian Trojans (2-6, 1-4 AISA Class 1A-Region 2) will look to halt a four-game losing skid when they travel to Evergreen to face the Sparta Academy Warriors (4-4, 3-2 AISA Class 1A-Region 2) in a region matchup on Friday.

After starting the season with four-straight losses, Sparta enters Friday’s game on a four-game winning streak including last week’s 24-16 win at Marengo Academy.

Meadowview will enter Friday’s game coming off a 47-19 homecoming loss to undefeated Pickens Academy.

 

Dallas Co. welcomes Childersburg

After a close, 28-24 road loss at Holtville, the Dallas County Hornets (2-5, 0-5 Class 4A-Region 3) will return home Friday to host the Childersburg Tigers (3-4, 2-3 Class 4A-Region 3) in a region contest.

The Hornets are still searching for their first win in their new region and enter Friday’s game on a two-game losing streak.

The Tigers snapped a four-game losing streak with last week’s 18-14 win over region foe Elmore County.

 

Morgan going to Clarke Prep

The Morgan Academy Senators (3-5, 1-4, AISA Class 3A-Region 2) are hoping to end a losing trend when they travel to Grove Hill to face the Clarke Prep Gators (7-1, 6-0 AISA Class 2A-Region 2) on Friday in a non-region game.

The Senators are currently on a five-game losing streak after opening the season 3-0, and are coming off a 37-0 loss to undefeated Monroe Academy.

The Gators enter Friday’s game coming off a 27-26 win over Escambia Academy.
