The TNA Heat AAU basketball team returns after a one-year absence from COVID-19 pandemic.
TNA Heat won the Montgomery Spring YBOA Tournament last weekend in the state’s capital.
Derrick Smith scored a team-high 56 points. Joshua Davis III scored 40 points. Conner Williams scored 36 points. Titus Lanier scored 34 points, Eric Smith scored 31 points. RJ Harris scored 3 points.
Miles Hannah, one of the team’s top players, did not play because of a broken arm. He’s expected back next month.
The TNA Heat was ranked the number one team in the state for the sixth grade division two years ago and went 46-6.
Last year, they were not able to play in the seventh grade division due to COVID-19.
“All of our athletes are among the top players in their middle school and junior varsity teams throughout the state of Alabama,” TNA Heat coach Marcus Hannah said. “They are representing their home city Selma, Alabama to the fullest. We would like to thank the community for their continued support and prayers. ”
