MMI beats Shelton, wins ACCC championship

Christian Bradford scored 18 points to lead Marion Military Institute to a 64-63 win over Shelton State in the Alabama Community College Conference championship game Friday night.

Miles Perdue, Ronnie Baylark and Charles Tripp also scored 10 points apiece for Marion.

The win gave Marion Military an automatic bid to the upcoming Natiional Junior College Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament.

 

Two Keith players Named All-Tourney

Keith’s Harriet Winchester and John Pettway were each named to the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s class 1A finals all tournament team on Thursday.

 

Morgan softball loses to Escamabia

Morgan Academy built a 1-0 run on an error, but the Senators couldn’t hang on in a 4-1 loss Saturday to Escambia Academy.

Senators’ pitcher Ansley Smitherman threw nine strikeouts and allowed four runs.

 

Senators soccer loses to Kingwood

The Morgan boys lost to Kingwood 3-1 in soccer on Friday.
