Selma 58, Cedar Grove 27 (Girls)
Jamya Smith made six 3-pointers as Selma pulled away from Cedar Grove 58-27 Monday in the first round of the Dwight Madison Roundball Classic at Carver High School. Smith scored all of her 18 points from behind the 3-point line. Jacquetta Dailey added another 16 points for the Saints.
Selma 54, Williamson 44 (Boys)
Kentravious White scored 19 points to lead Selma past Williamson 54-44 Monday in the Gulf Coast Classic at LeFlore High School. Quentavious Davis had 15 points and seven reounds and Brandon Hatcher flirted with a double-double. Hatcher had 10 points and nine rebounds.
Murphy 57, Southside 56 (Boys)
Lee Underwood’s 24 points weren’t enough as Southside fell to Murphy 57-56 in the first round of the Gulf Coast Invitational. Charles Price had a tremendous game, scoring 15 points, adding 15 rebounds and blocking 10 shots. Kentavious Page also had 13 points for the Panthers.
Southside 48, B.C. Rain 41 (Boys)
Southside (7-6) defeated B.C. Rain behind a double-double by Charles Price, who had 15 points and 11 rebounds. Kentavius Page scored 13 points and Lee Underwood had another 12 for the Panthers.
Keith girls defeat Bessemer City, Autaugaville
Keith defeated Bessemer City 45-44 and defeated Autaugaville 60-47 at Faulkner University in Montgomery. The Bears will play B.C. Rain on Wednesday.
Keith 59, Holt 58 (Boys)
Keith defeated Holt 59-58 in the Nucor Steele Tournament Monday. John Pettway scored 16 points and had five rebounds and five assists for the Bears. Justyn Pettway scored 13 points and pulled down six rebounds and both Morris Collins and Dalven Johnson scored 10 points.
