Score Roundup: 1A Keith girls stun 7A Murphy

The Keith girls basketball team showed how good it was last year in winning in the class 1A state championship, but on Tuesday night the Bears reiterated it with the kind of upset that will open some eyes.
Behind Harriet Winchester’s 26 points, 10 rebounds and six assists the 1A Bears (4-1) stunned 7A Murphy 43-35 in the second round of the Williamson High School Thanksgiving Tournament.
Zykia Pettway also poured in nine points and 12 rebounds and Shatavia Moore added seven points and nine rebounds for Keith.
Keith was set to play in Wednesday night’s state championship game against Williamson, who defeated Fairhope 42-33.
Vigor 73, Keith 68 (Boys)
John Pettway hit a 3-pointer that sent Tuesday night’s semifinal game between Vigor and Keith into overtime, but the Bears lost 73-68 in the extra session.
Pettway continued his blazing start to the season with 26 points, six rebounds and five assists, but Dalven Johnson also had a big game for the Bears. Johnson scored 18 points and had eight rebounds.
Kerwin Holmes also scored 10 points for Keith (4-1), which lost its first game of the season.
Keith 63, Cottage Hill 37 (Boys)
Keith defeated Cottage Hill 63-37 on Wednesday in the third place game of the Williamson High School Thanksgiving Tournament. No stats were provided for this game.
