“We are starting to make the routine plays,” said Trojans head coach Scott Gunter. “We’ve come a long way. The first part of the season we couldn’t catch a fly ball and we didn’t make routine plays, and now we are starting to make routine plays and do the little things and that’s what it takes to win ballgames.”

Meadowview is slated to play games against Marion Academy Tuesday and Friday. If the Trojans win both, they make the playoffs.

Selma U, CCA split baseball doubleheader

Selma University and Concordia College Alabama split a baseball doubleheader Saturday at Bloch Park.

The Bulldogs won game one 12-5 behind a homerun by Isaiah Bell and Kiefer Kilcrease’s three runs scored. Tremayne Hopps also scored two runs for Selma in the first game.

Concordia won game two 4-1. Selma pitcher Shane Jeffcoat gave up four hits, two earned runs and struck out eight batters in the game. Deshun Bolling scored the Bulldogs only run in the game.
