Bears head coach Tommy Tisdale said the loss was Keith’s first to a 1A opponent during the regular season in seven years. This was a big one too.

Keith (14-11) could have locked up the class 1A, area 5 area championship with a win over the Tigers.

Instead, Keith, who finished 5-1 in area play, will have to wait and see if Sunshine can defeat Ellwood Christian Friday. If the Tigers win, they will match Keith at 5-1 in area and the winner of the area will come down to a coin flip.

Whichever team wins the area will host the area tournament. Keith and Sunshine, as the top two teams in the ASWA rankings, could meet for a third time there.
