Score Roundup: Keith, Morgan play well in jamboree games

Keith had its way with Autaugaville  Friday in a 24-2 victory in its jamboree game.

Travis Goldsby and Deanthony Griffin scored touchdowns for the Bears in the win.

Lamar Crumpton and Morris Collins also were difference makers on defense, Keith head coach Harry Crum said.

“Our trademark is to do our best to run the ball and we did a fair job,” Crum said.

The Bears will play their regular season opener next Friday against Southside. Crum said there are some things Keith needs to improve before that game.

“There’s always room for improvement and I saw some things we need to correct,” said Keith head coach Harry Crum. “We’ll go back on Monday and anaylze the film.”

 

Morgan Academy splits jamboree games

Morgan Academy split its jamboree games Friday night, falling to Clarke Prep 21-6 and defeating Russell Christian 14-6.

Woodham Keemer scored on a 35-yard touchdown reception and John Ross Bone ran for a score in the Senators’ win against Russell Christian.

“In the second game our effort was a lot better,” said Morgan head coach Jake Wingo. “We played more consistent and played a full game on both sides of the ball.”

Morgan Academy opens its season next week against Monroe Academy.
