The Dallas County Hornets football team hits the road hoping to bounce back from last week’s loss.

The Hornets (1-1, 0-1 Class 4A Region 3) will travel to Valley Friday at 7 p.m. to face the Beulah Bobcats (1-1, 0-1 Class 4A Region 3) in a region game.

Chris Littleton, head football coach of Dallas County High School, said the Bobcats are a team that runs a multiple offense with two tight end and spread formations mixed in.

“They’re a pretty good football team,” Littleton said. “They throw a lot of different formations at you, they’ve got a few base plays they run out of each one. They’re a good, two-dimensional team — they’ll throw it around and they like to run it.”

Littleton said he feels like the players have bounced back after last week’s loss and they’ve been working hard in practice to prepare for the Bobcats’ offense and defenswith the help of the scout team.

“We’ve spent a couple days on some teaching things and just going back to some basic stuff doing some individual drill work,” Littleton said. “We also spend a good part of the day looking at their offense and their defense. The scout team’s done a real good job of running their plays to give us a good look. The younger guys have done a good job with that.”

Littleton added the Hornets need to play sound football to have a shot at winning.

“We feel like we just need to take care of the football, run the ball, and play sound defensively,” Littleton said. “We feel like if we do that we’ll be in good shape.”
