Alignments change in AISA

The new alignment sets the region games in stone, but teams have to wait until the AISA state office makes some decisions before moving to schedule non-region games.

“We’re kind of waiting on the state to tell us what they’re going to do,” Taylor said. “The state kind of does our schedule for us as far as football goes. They will kind of tell us who we’re going to play. We’ll probably have an opportunity, I think, to get some choices of who we want to play. They haven’t really come out and said how they’re going to do that.”

Jones has expressed an interest in renewing the Trojans rivalry on the gridiron with the Senators that hasn’t been played since 2005.
Taylor said he and Jones have discussed the possibility in passing, but both schools are in wait-and-see mode.

“We’ve talked a little bit about it,” Taylor said. “I’m just waiting to see what the state’s going to tell us what to do. That’s one of those things where we’re going to cross that bridge when we get closer to it. We’ve discussed it. I know he and coach (Brian) King talked about it in depth. So, We haven’t really haven’t had a chance to talk about it per se. We’ve talked about doing some other things along those lines. We haven’t sat down and talked about it at depth.”

Both schools may be approaching that bridge soon, as Taylor said the AISA state office will have a meeting on March 3 about scheduling, and while the schedules won’t be determined on that date, teams will have guidelines on how to move forward.
