Youth teams still fighting for state tournament spots

The Selma Blue 9-and-10-year-old boys were eliminated Saturday at Grove Hill, who is hosting the state tournament, after losing a close game to Selma Red 9-8.

Monroe will play Grove Hill in the state tournament Tuesday.

 

Selma Red Drops Blue to advance in tournament

Selma Red eliminated Selma Blue in the 11-and-12-year-old boys’ district tournament at the Dallas County Sportsplex  Saturday.

Selma Red defeated Monroe 7-6at the Sportsplex Monday night.

Selma Red fell 14-4 to Monroe Friday night in its opening round of the district tournament, but came back in extra innings and defeated Monroe with a walk-off homerun Monday.

Selma Red will play Thomasville at the district tournament at the Dallas County Sportsplex on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

 

No comeback for Selma after being shut out

Selma Blue All-Stars of the 13-and-14-year-old boys’ league loss 13-0 to Thomasville Saturday.

Selma Blue fell to Butler at the Dallas County baseball complex Monday at 6 p.m. in an elimination game.

Butler will advance to the state tournament.

 

Red team headed to state championship in Tuscaloosa

The Selma Red 7-and-8-year-old boys defeated Grove Hill on June 16 to advance to the state tournament in Tuscaloosa, which will begin on July 10.
