Lady Trojans defeat EMCA, Jackson in softball

Meadowview 14, East Memorial 1

The Meadowview Christian Lady Trojans defeated East Memorial 14-1 Tuesday night behind a strong performance by Maggie Tipton, who went 3-for-5 and hit a solo homerun.

The Trojans fell behind 1-0 in the first inning but behind strong pitching from Claudia Kendrick and a lot of timely hits, Meadowview took the lead with a six-run third inning to make it 6-1 Trojans. Three more runs followed in the fourth inning and five in the fifth to help Meadowview win 14-1.

Shelby Boswell also went 3-for-4 with a walk for the Lady Trojans in the game and Kinley Vardaman went 1-for-4 with a double.

 

Meadowview 9, Jackson Academy 3

Meadowview’s Lady Trojans came from behind to defeat Jackson Academy Thursday 9-3 on Thursday night. The Trojans trailed 2-0 after the first inning but scored a single run in the first, second and third inning. In the fourth, Meadowview finally took complete control of the game with a six run inning.

Claudia Kendrick was the starting pitching for the Trojans and picked up the win with a three strikeout performance.

Meadowview’s Mallory Freine went 2-for-4, Kendrick hit a triple and was walked twice and Christina Dabit singled. Eight different Trojans had hits in the game.
