Ellwood Eagles lose close game to Central Hayneville

The Ellwood Christian Eagles put all they had into their tough 71-76 loss at the hands of Central Hayneville High School, but that doesn’t make the final result any easier to swallow.

Seconds after the heartbreaking defeat, Ellwood head coach Steve Hendrieth said his team could draw plenty of lessons from the game they were in until the final seconds.

“We should have won here tonight,” Hendrieth said. “Our mental lapses throughout the game and turnovers at the end held us back, but we will clear it up.”
