Ellwood comes up short

Ellwood’s B.J. Harris hit two straight baskets to make it a 50-38 game with 2:53 left, but the Eagles didn’t get back within single digits until the final ten seconds of the game.

Harris led the Eagles with 15 points, while Sheppard and Irving Smith added 10 points each for Ellwood.

Petar Milivoqeviz led the Cougars with 21 points, while Austin Brown had 14 points for Crenshaw.

Sheppard was named to the all-tournament team.

The loss ends the season for Ellwood, while the Cougars advance to the AISA Class 1A title game against the Cornerstone Christian School Chargers on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Huntingdon.
