Drug Free Community of Dallas County gets national honor

Drug Free Communities of Dallas County Hope Dealers earned a Blue Ribbon Coalition credential from CADCA for its battle against drug abuse.

DFCDC Executive Director Jerria Martin made the announcement at its Thanksgiving Community Luncheon on Tuesday. Businesses and schools in the county were recognized.

The DFC Hope Dealers will be recognized during CADCA’s 2023 National Leadership Forum at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland between February 27 and March 3.

“The Hope Dealers are hard at work everyday in Dallas County, implementing creative and innovative strategies to keep our kids drug free,” Martin said.  “Oftentimes hard work goes overlooked, which makes us even more excited about achieving the Blue Ribbon credential.”

Over the last three years, DFC Hope Dealers have been recognized by the ONDCP, Executive Office of the President, and former First Lady Melania Trump for their great work in drug prevention in Dallas County.

“We congratulate Drug Free Communities of Dallas County on their outstanding work and dedication to their community,’’ said Pat Castillo, CADCA’s VP, Training Operations/Director, National Coalition Institute. “The Hope Dealers clearly embraced the CADCA model of prevention and their commitment to creating a foundation for population-level outcomes is an inspiration for others in the field of substance misuse prevention.”

Drug Free Communities of Dallas County was founded in 2016 .
