Richard Alan (affectionately known as JR), 34 of Montgomery, Alabama passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021.

He was born on June 13, 1987 in Selma, to parents Richard Alan Blackerby, Sr and Barbara Ann Willis Blackerby. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father, and friend, as well as a lifelong Auburn Tigers fan.

JR is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jasper Newton Blackerby, Sr and Mary Josephine Churchill Blackerby of Marion, Alabama and Oscar Clifton Willis and Mary Josephine Capitina Willis of Selma. He is survived by his wife, Skylar Tucker Blackerby of Montgomery, Alabama; children, Jett Lillian Blackerby and Zeppelin Ezra Blackerby of Montgomery; parents, Richard Alan Blackerby Sr and Barbara Ann Willis Blackerby; sister, Aimee Blackerby Le (Adam) of Harvest, brothers, Christopher Mark Thornell of Pike Road, , Bruce Erwin Thornell of Deatsville, and Robert Timothy Thornell of Redland, special aunts Janice Marie Willis Scott (David) of Selma, Teresa Lynn Willis Gaylor (Tommy) of Marion Junction, and Brenda Faye Willis Cranmore (Dale) of Daphne.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, June 29 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Prattville Memorial Gardens 841 Fairview Avenue Prattville, Alabama 36066.
