Juanita “Nita” Cobb Sykes Mott

Juanita “Nita” Cobb Sykes Mott, a resident of Wetumpka, Alabama slipped peacefully into eternity on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the age of 85. She will be remembered for her love and faith in Jesus Christ, reading her Bible, helping others, and crocheting. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Wetumpka. Funeral services are Monday at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. James Troglen officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, Alabama. Mrs. Mott was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years in 2006, Tollie Edward “Sam” Mott; parents, Hallett Thompson Cobb and Fannie Mae Cobb Sykes; step-father, John Alvin Sykes; sister and brother-in-law, Cordelia (James) Bracknell; and brother, Ferris Trammel. She is survived by daughters, Sherry Jane (Randy) Martin and Edwina Kay (Daniel) Gubin; four grandchildren, Chris (Wendy) Martin, Anna (Brodie) Burns, Gabe (Amanda) McGinty, and Ben (Nina) McGinty; nine great-grandchildren, Andrea Martin, Cody Martin, Camden Martin, Lola McGinty, John Daniel Channell, Jonah Channell, Carlyn Burns, Peyton Dover, and Bentley McGinty; sister-in-law, Eloise Trammel; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and special friends. Pallbearers will be Chris Martin, Cody Martin, Gabe McGinty, Ben McGinty, Bill Mott, and Charles Roberts. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Helen Macon / Lydia Sunday school class and friends and neighbors at the Gardens of Wetumpka.
