Lucille Austin Baynes, age 79, a resident of Selma, AL, passed away August 19, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Baynes, Sr.; parents, Gid and Hattie Austin; daughter, Carol Baynes and granddaughter, Isica Williams.
Surviving are her sons, Arthur Baynes, Samuel (Sarah) Baynes, Jr. and Robert (Queen) Baynes all of Selma, AL; daughters, Elizabeth Baynes of Buffalo, NY, Margaret (Eddie) Dixon of Selma, AL, Hattie (Paul) Fields of Louisville, KY, Lucille (Jimmy) Hayes of Cleveland, OH, Virginia (Boris) Tucker of Montgomery, AL, Rose Williams of Louisville, KY; Lillian (Rodney) Stevens of Valley Grande, AL and Katetko (Derrick) Randolph of Montgomery, AL; adopted children, Terry (Chanette) Craig, Kenneth (Debra) Williams and Jennifer Reese; special friends, Barbara Hunter, Gurtha Watts and Rev. Willie and Geraldine Morton; private sitters, Alice Thomas, Billy Rose Cosby and Clara Moten; thirty-four grandchildren and thirty-seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Community Methodist Church with Rev. Curtis Williams officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
