Edna Meek died on September 7, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Frank B. and Ruby Young Oglesby. She was the widow of the late James E. Meek. A previous marriage to the late Frank T. Horn ended in divorce.
Mrs. Meek was born in Selma, Al on November 2, 1916. An older brother, John Norris Oglesby, pre-deceased her. She is survived by her brother, Glenn Aubrey Oglesby (Pat) of Orange Park, Florida, and four sons, Frank T. Horn (Joyce) of Biltmore Lake, North Carolina, Robert E. Horn (Karla) of Amarillo, Texas, William Alan Horn (Annette) of Norwalk, Iowa, and John Marcus Horn (Sandi) of Leesville, Louisiana. She had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There will be a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Calhoun Parlor of Church Street United Methodist Church on Thursday September 11, 2008. A memorial service will follow at 10:45 a.m. In Lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations and memorials be made in Mrs. Meek’s name to the Selma-Dallas County Library.
