Evelyn Alison

Evelyn Lee Alison, age 88, a resident of Carlowville, Alabama, died Friday November 14, 2008 at her home. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Reynolds Ali-son of Carlowville. She graduated from Carlowville High School and Alabama Polytechnic Institute now Auburn University.
She was a life long member of St Paul’s Episcopal Church, Carlowville, and active in church work. She sang in the choir for many years, was president of the Women of the Church, served on the Vestry and was a Lector.
She was a longtime employee of the State of Alabama, Pensions and Securities department. She enjoyed traveling the world with her mother and sister for over fifty years. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother; William Lockwood Alison and sister-in-law, Sara G. Alison. Survivors include, her sisters; Mary Beekman Alison, and Henrietta Alison Boykin, her brother-in-law; Claude C. Boykin, Jr., her nieces; Ellen Alison Ruther-ford and her husband Jeffrey Alan Rutherford, Charlotte Lockwood Alison and Catherine Alison Boykin, great nieces; Sara, Ashley, and Alison Rutherford.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday November 16, 2008 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Carlowville. Burial will follow in St Paul’s cemetery with Reverend Louie Skipper officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
