Howard Smith Sr., 78, of 1206 Atlee Street died Saturday, December 20, 2008, at Warren Manor.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2008, at the Sandridge Baptist Church on Kingsbend with the Rev. Roosevelt Marzett officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard under the direction of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calloway Smith; four brothers, Bernice, Roosevelt, Joseph, and James Smith Sr.; and sisters, Sara and Susie Bell Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Estella Smith; five sons, Howard Smith Jr., Willie James, Clarence Smiley, Lawrence Smith of Atlanta, GA, and Lorenzo Carter; three daughters, Elaine, Annette, and Patricia; and sister, Katie Parker. Other relatives include his 2 ex daughter-in-laws, Dorothy Smiley and Surrenda Smiley; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
