WOOD, John H., 55, passed away Friday, February 13, 2009 after a lengthy battle with cancer. The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 16th from 12-2pm at Southern Memorial. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 2pm. He was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph H. Wood and brother, Joseph H. Wood, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Norma Wood; mother, Margaret “Meg” Wood; step-children, Misty (Frank) Vales &Travis (Tammy) Cardin; 4 grandchildren, Justin, Ryan, Kaitlyn &T.J.; sister, Marsha (Pete) Durden; father-in-law &mother-in-law, Sherman &Vivian Watson; nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and very special friends from the Islander. The family wishes to send special thanks to W.K. Upchurch Construction and RSC Equipment Rental for all of their support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Montgomery. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Foxworth, Darrell Hyatt, Sonny Trammell, Johnny Hoggle, Hugh Killian &Bill Cox.
