James Larry Fountain, age 58, passed away February 20, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Smith Fountain; parents, James Heath and Carlie D. “Polly” Fountain and his great nephew, Bobby C. Brink.
Larry is survived by his son, James Carswell Fountain; daughter, Kimberly Fountain; sisters, Lila (Ray) Smith and Kay Bickerstaff; aunt, Marie Bearden; nieces, Cathi (Jeff) Deason, Lawana (Anthony) Smith and Salina (Glenn) Hutchins. He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews, Timothy Adam (Nikki) Skelton, Angel Middleton, Ashley Middleton, Aleesha Middleton, Maranda Phillips, Tiffany “T.J.” Deason, Heather Scott and Courtney Smith; great-great nieces and nephews, David Boothe, Cathryn Phillips, Cayleigh Phillips and Nycholas James Schmidtendorff. Funeral services will be Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Selma Funeral Home with Rev. Rod Rochester officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, February 21, 2009 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Deason, Glenn Hutchins, Julian Smith, Jay Smith, Ray Smith, Ernie Brink, Mike Fountain and Gordon Stoudenmire.
