Josephine Smith Ames Childers, age 72 of Selma, died Wednesday March 11, 2009. Services will be Friday March 13, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at St Paul’s Episcopal Church with Reverend Joseph S. Knight, Reverend James Elliot, The Reverend Deacon Joanie Hammonds, and Reverend Dr. Ron Stone officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery. Survivors include her husband; Miller Childers, children; Mortimer P. Ames III of Chicago, Jodie Ames Williford (Andrew) of Carlisle, P.A., Caroline Childers Majors of Selma, The Reverend Robert T.J. Childers (Terry) of Look Out Mountain, TN, Ben Childers of Fairhope, grandchildren; A.B. Williford, Ames Williford, Bascomb Majors, Mary Martin Majors, Miller Majors, Rob Childers, Elizabeth Childers, sisters; Bebe Smith Reeves, (Archie) of Selma, Sally Smith Carrington (David) of Mobile and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mallory Reeves, Jim Nichols, Archie Reeves IV, Allen Reeves, Edgar Reeves, David Carrington, Blackshear Carrington, and Freddie Carrington.
