Clarice C Rives, age 84, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021, with family by her side, in Navarre, Florida.
She was born in Selma on December 18, 1936. She retired as a medical transcriptionist from the hospital with over 50 years of experience.
She was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Rose Leigh Clonts, her husband Whitfied Jack Rives, sister Geraldine Walsh (Johnny), son Butch Crawford, son Chuck Ward, grandson Forrest Brown.
Her survivors include: daughter, Leigh (Jim) Cox; granddaughter, McKinsey (Geoff) Franklin; great grandson, Crawford Franklin; brother, Howard (Jean) Clonts; sister Sara (Billy) Teal; stepdaughters, Melissa (Dave) Brown, Debbie Rives; one grandson, Nicholas Brown; numerous nieces, nephews and Monta Honeycutt (former daughter in-law). Her love for Christ and her family were immeasurable. Her faith kept her going through each obstacle she faced in life. As the angels carried her home she was at peace.
She made many lasting friendships through the years at the hospital. Her biggest complaint as she got older is she could no longer wear her high heel shoes.
We will receive friends for visitation at 11 a.m. and the memorial will start at 11:30 a.m. Officiating Brother James Duke. Donations can be made to West End Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
