Barbara Holston Maroney was a caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She passed away on April 15, 2021, at Cedar Hills Assisted Living in Selma  She was the widow of Hubbard Maroney, Sr.  She is survived by her children Hubbard (Robin) Maroney, Bert (Angie) Maroney, and LeAnn Maroney, along with three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

After receiving her undergraduate degree from Auburn University and her master’s degree from The University of Montevallo, she spent most of her teaching career in the Selma City School System for what she described as “forever and a day.” 

Barbara loved spending time painting and working with pottery.  She was an active member of Elkdale Baptist Church and spent much of her young adulthood following her children and husband as they participated in many sporting events. 

A funeral service is scheduled at Lawrence Funeral Home on April 19, 2021, with visitation at 10 a.m. and the service at 10:30 a.m.

The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful staff at Cedar Hills for taking such good care of Barbara for the past couple of years.
