Shirley Abbott Worrell age 71 of Selma, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2020 surrounded b y her family. She was born in Alabama on January 1, 1949 to the late John T. Abbott, Jr. and Vera Popwell Abbott.

She was the former Office Manager for Bush Hog.

She is survived by husband, Charles Wayne Worrell; children, Kevin Reid Worrell (Margaret) and Lauren Worrell Goodwin (Heath); grandchildren, William Franklin Goodwin, II, Grace Garland Goodwin, Owen Reid Worrell, and Margaret Harmon Worrell; mother, Vera Popwell Abbott; sister, Donna Abbott Goray (David); numerous nieces and nephews; and host of other relatives. She is preceded in death by her father, John T. Abbott, Jr.; and her brothers, Billy Roger Abbott and Robert Earl Abbott.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 2 p.m. from the Fairview Baptist Church in Selma with Rev. Denny McLendon officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the church from 1-2 pm.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Brown, Dick Boozer, Jimmy Ellison, Andy Britt, Joe Kuss, and Glynn Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Claude Holbrook and Jack Robertson.
