Two players at Dallas County schools made the Alabama Sportswriters Association (ASWA) All-state basketball team.
Guards Arayvion Jones of Keith High and Morgan Academy’s Jeremy Lee each earned spots on the ASWA All-State team.
The 6-foot-3 Jones, who averaged 22 points and 12 rebounds a game, made the Class 1A second-team All-State.
“It showed me I’ve been putting in work all season long and it shows that I learned the game a little bit more from the first two years I made all-state,” Jones said.
Jones was the driving force behind the Bears’ earning a Top 10 ranking this season. He’s made three All-State teams.
“It’s a great accomplishment for Arayvion,” Bears coach Clifton Reeves said. He has worked hard throughout his career at Keith. He’s a good player and a good kid. I am proud of him.”
Lee, who averaged 21 points and five steals a game, has made ASWA All-State in football, baseball and basketball.“I thank my teammates and coaches, I wouldn’t have been able to do it without them,” Lee said.
Senators coach Luke Hutcheson is thrilled with Lee’s third-team selection to the AISA squad. “I am very proud of Jeremy on making all state. He worked hard on his all around game in the offseason,” Hutcheson said. “We all knew Jeremy was a great outside shooter, but he quickened his release, became a force driving the ball to the rim and played great on ball defense this year.”
