Selma High School held Baccalaureate Services on Sunday in its Auditorium.

Mount Ararat Missionary Baptist Church Pastor Rev. Craig B. Scott delivered the baccalaureate message to the Class of 2019.  Scott advised the seniors to remain spiritual on their future journey after graduation.

“When the winds of storm blow, reach out to Jesus,” Scott said. “Jesus knows about the hardships, and Jesus knows about the troubles you’re going through. Just call Jesus. If you call him in the morning, afternoon or evening, Jesus will reach out to you.”

Selma High Principal Stoney Pritchett said his closing remarks piggy-backed Scott’s powerful message. He cited Proverbs 3:5 to the senior class: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”

The program was presided by Selma High Register Dr. Alisa Smiley. Felicia Tinker delivered the greetings and Jordan Johnson read a poem.

Selma High’s graduation ceremony will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Bloch Park.
