Dallas County 9, Central Tuscaloosa 5 (Baseball)

Dallas County (19-3) clinched a playoff spot in class 5A with a 9-5 win over Central Tuscsaloosa Friday afternoon.

The Hornets scored six runs in the second inning to pull away, although Central Tuscaloosa threatened in the seventh inning.

Caleb Lester pitched 6.3 innings for the Hornets and threw 14 strikeouts. Gabe Denson closed the game wby getting out a jam to end the inning.
Meadowview Christian 8, Cahawba Christian 3 (Baseball)

Meadowview topped Cahawba Christian 8-3 behind a 13 strikeout performance by pitcher Jeremy Lee.

Chambers McGilberry, Lee and Justin McGuire each had two hits and Mason Kendrick also had a hit for the Trojans.

Meadowview improves to 8-3 on the season and 4-0 in area play.
