Joseph Hall Carstarphen

Joseph Hall Carstarphen, age 74, born in Oak Hill, died in New Orleans on March 11, 2017.
He was a resident of Selma. He was the owner and pharmacist of Interlink Drug Company for 50 years.
Mr. Carstarphen was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Carstarphen and Clara Cooper Carstarphen; his brother, Fred; and two of his sisters, Edna Khaton and Mary Emma Orsborn.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Donnaleah LeBeouf Carstarphen; four daughters; Dana (William Malley), Meria (David Heleniak), Kathy Jo (Neil Rodgers) and Boni (Michelle LeMasurier); three granddaughters; Clara and Helen Carstarphen Malley of Washington D.C. and Josephine Carstarphen Rogers of New Orleans; his sisters, Katie Thompson and Demetri Williams of Mobile. Mr. Carstarphen had many beloved nieces and nephews and extended family and friends whom he loved very much.
A funeral mass will be held in his honor on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Queen of Peace Church, located at 309 Washington St., at 11 a.m. with a repast immediately following at the Selma Convention Center, located at 211 Washington St., in Selma.
