Thanking Leashore for his work in Ward 6

Dear Editor,

I would like to thank Councilman Johnny Leashore (Selma City Council Ward 6) for being a man of his word and to let him know that he is very much appreciated.

I don’t live in Ward 6; however, I do have rental property in the ward. A couple of weeks ago, I made a call to Councilman Leashore and talked with him about a large pothole that was in the street on Philpot Avenue.

Not only did he come out and look at it in person, but on yesterday, March 6, 2017, those wonderful city workers, who are also appreciated, came out and repaired the pothole. Councilman Leashore, again I say thank you and the residents of Philpot Avenue thank you.

Citizens of Selma, some of you may be saying, “that’s his job,” well I say to you, it’s all of our job. Stop sitting back complaining and get to know your councilperson.

If they are trying to do for your ward, they can’t do it alone. We must reach out and help. That’s how change is brought about a little at a time.
