A memorable trip

Dear Editor:

I am writing this letter to express to Brenda Mitchell principal of Southside Primary School and her staff for providing a day jam packed with fun activities targeting the entire family.

On Friday, April 12, 2019, Southside Primary went on a Field Trip to Huntsville to see Disney on Ice which, to my surprise, was really good and exciting.  I was able to attend with my grandchildren and need I say, a good time was had by all.  We got to see all of the Disney characters, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Aladdin and countless others perform on ice.  This is a must see for all families.  I made memories with my grandkids that will transcend the grave.  Memories they will hopefully share with their children of their 62-year-old grandmother trying to keep up with an 8 and 6-year-old.

From Disney on Ice, we had sack lunches while sitting on the curbside, then we went to an activity center where the parents and grandparents got to paint Mickey Mouse. We did this as a family further fostering togetherness and activities that can be done as a family.  Need I say I think my Mickey looked the best of all.

From there, we traveled to Pump It Up which is an inside bouncy house type center. By this time I was really feeling my age and the kids enjoyed this activity far more than I did.

From there we went to eat at Golden Corral. Can you imagine all these kids going to eat at a buffet? Through the planning and coordination of Almetra Cunningham it was seamless getting all of us in, seated and served.

Cunningham, the school Administrative Assistant, did an outstanding job coordinating this trip down to the last detail, my hats off to you. All of the teachers were very attentive to their classes and for the most part, all of these 6 to 9-year-olds were on their best behavior.

Mitchell, the parents and grandparents of Southside Primary said kudos for a job well done.  Let me not forget Neely Transportation for a job well done, your drivers were professional and very courteous.

Sincerely,
