Marion Military Institute sophomore Charles Tripp has been named the Alabama Community College Conference Player of the Week.

Trip scored 24 points with nine rebounds, one steal and one block in the Tigers’ 83-65 win over Southern Union on Jan. 12.

The Demopolis native is averaging 13.5 points per game and 7.2 rebounds for the Tigers this year.

Marion is currently ranked No. 20 in the National Junior College Athletic Association poll.

The Tigers are 13-1 on the season and have won seven games in a row.

Marion was set to host West Georgia Technical College on Thursday.
