Mr. Alfonso Sparks, 89, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements have been scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Brown Chapel AME Church with the Rev. Ernest Wright officiating. Internment will take place on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo with Ashley’s J.H. Williams & Sons Funeral Home directing.
