Gordon George Thompson

Gordon George Thompson, age 82, of Selma, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016.

Gordon was born in Bad Axe, Michigan, on June 24, 1934. He retired from the Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. He also was a member of West End Baptist Church; a member of the Lions Club; and a member of the American Legion, where he was a past post commander and the chaplin.

He is preceded by his wife, Sally Thompson; parents, George Thompson and June Thompson Byraski; and brother, Virgil Thompson.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his daughter, Joyce Carroll (Dean) of Waterford, Michigan; stepchildren, Linda Nickles (Dock) of Pike Road, Libby Brown of Manchester, Tennessee, Fran Moon (Jerry) of Tuscaloosa and Mike Brown of Montgomery; brother-in-law, Phillip Chantz of Philadelphia; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great- grandchildren.

Chapel services will be Tuesday June 28 at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Brown- Service Funeral Home with the Rev. James Duke officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Scott Little, Jeffrey Nickles, Jason Nickles, Staff Sgt. David Craze, Austin Little, Garrett Welch and Bradford Nickles.
