Concordia College Alabama will be holding volleyball tryouts Monday from 9:30 a.m. – noon. High school seniors, juniors and college transfer students are also invited to participate.
Head coach Katasha Turner said she is looking for players who are coachable, will work hard and want to be pushed and challenged.
Turner said many of her players finished in the top 10 in passing, hitting and blocking and she hopes to keep up that success next season.
“I have a lot of good girls returning, but we want to continue to improve and fill those spots where I need them,” Turner said.
The volleyball team finished the season on a four-match win streak to end the year with a 17-19 record in Turner’s first season as head coach.
Turner said she is expecting around 15 – 20 volleyball players to show up, but she is hoping more come out.
“I’m looking for girls who want to come in and communicate with each other and want to be a part of a family,” Turner said.
Turner, who also serves as Concordia’s softball coach, said she will be holding tryouts for the softball team sometime in late April or early May.
She encourages those interested to be on the lookout for an update on the softball tryouts.
