Basketball roundup: Senators boys, girls fall at Autauga; Concordia men win

Morgan Academy (7-7) couldn’t overcome a poor shooting performance during Thursday’s loss to Autauga Academy.

The Senators shot only 28 percent from the field and couldn’t slow Autauga eighth grader Michael Murry, who led all scorers with 20 points.

Woodham Kemmer led the way for Morgan with 12 points and Sawyer Hopkins had eight points and 11 rebounds. Harrison Adams also had seven points for Morgan.

Autauga 56, Morgan 33 (girls)

Morgan Academy (4-9) fell 56-33 on the road to Autauga Academy Thursday.

Emily Sherrer led the Senators with 11 points and Regan Hewitt added five points.

Kinsley Mott and Ellie Adams both scored four points.

Morgan’s boys and girls are at Hooper Academy Tuesday.

 

Concordia 75, Florida College 65 (men’s)

Jamie Washington posted a triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists as the Concordia College Alabama Hornets (5-8) defeated the Florida College Falcons 75-65 Thursday on the road.

Kendrick Atwood connected on all six of his 3-point attempts for the Hornets, and he led all scorers with 22 points.

Shaquille Duncan contributed off the bench, adding 10 points and nine rebounds.

Concordia turned the ball over more than double the amount of its opponent, but the Hornets managed to shoot over 65 percent from the field to make up for it.
