Thanks for Buddy Poppy drive support

Dear editor. The drive was held on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Our members were assisted by Major Spicer and JR. R.O.T.C. cadets from Selma High School along with Sgt. Medina and Jr. R.O.T.C. cadets from Southside High School.
Once again we were humbled by the generosity of the people of Dallas County. Everyone showed their gratefulness to the veterans that protect their freedoms. The money raised is put back into the community by way of purchasing flags for schools and businesses, youth programs, and helping needy veterans within the community.
We would like to thank the businesses that allowed us to stand at the entrances of their establishments to hand out the Buddy Poppy Flower for donations. They are: Wal-Mart, Winn-Dixie/Highland Avenue, Winn-Dixie/Dallas Avenue, Doc’s Grocery and Gabe’s Grocery.
The VFW Post 3016 the auxiliary were able to raise $1,650. We would also like to thank to The Selma Times-Journal for the excellent articles in your paper.
Thank everyone so very much because we all know, “Freedom is not free.”
