CCA looks for first win vs. Stillman

Concordia College Alabama will look to get its football season on track Saturday at Stillman College.
The Hornets (0-2) followed a blowout defeat to Warner University with a 17-14 loss to Lane College last week. Concordia led 14-7 at halftime but gave up 10 third quarter points to relinquish the lead.
The Hornets will look to get their offense going.
In two games this year, Concordia has scored only 17 total points and turnovers haven’t helped. The Hornets had six turnovers in their opener and had a costly fumble on a kickoff return last week that set up the game-winning touchdown for Lane.
“We talked about that in the beginning — the team that does not make the foolish penalty usually will win and we had too many,” said Concordia head coach Stanley Conner following his team’s loss to Lane.
Stillman (0-1) is also looking for its first win after losing its opener at West Alabama 52-9. The Tigers took a 7-3 lead on a Mailk Williams’ 66-yard touchdown reception, but West Alabama scored the game’s next four touchdowns to turn the game into a blowout.
Conner has pointed to the third game all offseason as when he expects his team to start turning it around.
Concordia’s last trip to Stillman came in 2013 when the Hornets fell 52-0.
A very different Concordia team will take the field in Tuscaloosa Saturday, as the Hornets have changed coaches twice since their last game at Stillman.
Saturday’s kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
