Selma-Dallas County Sav-A-Life raised over $8,000 dollars at its seventh annual charity golf tournament at the Valley Grande Golf Course Saturday.
There were 23 teams that participated in the charity golf tournament’s three-man scramble. Troy Harvill, Shane Lee and Bob Frazer won first place with a score of 57. Douglas Coats, Moses Ngirailab and Joe Crovato placed second with 60. Tate Rogers, Chris Henry and Tony Levins came in third with 60.
Sav-A-Life is a pregnancy care ministry that helps women, men and families dealing with unplanned pregnancy free and confidential services to create a loving environment for their child.
Executive director of Sav-A-Life Jennifer Dobbs was happy with the enthusiasm of all the golfers who showed up and contributed to the cause.
“I felt like it just went really smoothly,” Dobbs said. “Everybody had a great time. It rained a couple of times, but it didn’t stop them. They were happy to keep playing, and I think everybody had a great time.”
Dobbs said Sav-A-Life is planning on moving into a new facility next month and the money raised Saturday will help with renovations in the new building.
