Selma is gearing up to welcome President Barack Obama and his family to Selma on Saturday, along with former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura.
Both Obama and Bush are expected to make remarks around 1:30 p.m. from the foot of the Edmund Pettus Bridge. Tickets are not required for the event, but access will be granted on a first-come, first served basis.
Guests must enter from the intersection of Selma Avenue and Church Street.
Doors will open to the general public at 8:30 a.m.
Those attending will be required to go through airport-like security and are advised to bring as few personal items as possible.
No bags, sharp objects, umbrellas, liquids or signs will be permitted. Overnight camping will not be allowed at any time leading up to the event.
