Roundup: Selma, Keith, Dallas County fall in weekend games

Holt 63, Keith 51 (boys)
Keith’s John Pettway scored 24 points but the Bears fell to Holt 63-51 Friday in the first round of the Nucor Invitational at Stillman College.
Holt Dee Hughes scored 25 points to lead Holt and Josh Strozier added 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Central Tuscaloosa 47, Selma 44 (Boys)
Selma couldn’t rebound from a sluggish first half Friday against Central Tuscaloosa in the first round ofthe Nucor Invitational at Stillman College
The game was back and forth late into the fourth quarter, but Central Tuscaloosa took control and held on for a 47-44 win.
Michael Griffin led the Saints (12-3) with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Dexter Hatcher scored 13 points and Aderick Moore added nine.
Dallas County 52,
Fairfield 48 (Boys)
Dallas County (10-2) overcame a small halftime deficit to defeat Fairfield 52-48 Friday in the first round of Hoover High School’s Orange Classic.
The Hornets were led by Jerrod Moorer’s 20 points and Kendell Motley’s 12. Javaris McGuire also scored 11 for Dallas County.
Dallas County led 16-13 after the first quarter, but trailed 29-26 at the half. The game was tied at 36 after three quarters.
Shelby County 65, Dallas County 52 (Boys)
Shelby County led throughout in a 65-52 win over Dallas County Saturday in the second day of the Hoover High School Orange Classic.
The Hornets (10-3) were led by Jerrod Moorer’s 26 points. Javaris McGuire scored 12 for Dalals County.
Shelby County led 27-17 at halftime and 44-28 after three.
