James S. “Stan” Johnson

Long-time Selma resident James S. “Stan” Johnson passed away Friday, Dec. 19.
He served 20 years in the United States Air Force and retired Aug. 1, 1972. He spent 22 years with Sears in Selma before retiring in 1993.
He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Frances Johnson; daughters Vicky (Ron) Thrower, Teresa Frost, Patty (Ricky) Wansley and Pam Johnson; one son, Jimmy (Norma) Johnson; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
He was a long-time member of Calvary Assembly of God church and served as a board member and Sunday school superintendent.
Visitation will be held at Living Waters Church in Valley Grande on Dec. 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with services immediately following with the Rev. Buddy Salsman and the Rev. John Varner officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing.
